The Screen Time Struggle
I love finding indoor activities that don't involve screen time for the girls! it's not that I'm anti-screen or anything — we definitely have movie nights and iPad time — but I've noticed the girls are just happier and more creative when they're doing something hands-on. and honestly so am I hahah.
LEGO Magazine
okay this is such a good one — LEGO magazine is so fun for the girls and bonus it's completely free! ❤️ it's also so cute that they look forward to it coming in the mail :,) Stella loves the building challenges and Ozzy loves the stickers. it keeps them busy for a solid hour which in mom time is basically a full vacation.
Art Station
I set up a little art corner in our playroom with paper, crayons, stickers, and washable paint. the key word is WASHABLE hahah. I learned that lesson the hard way. the girls will sit there and create for so long and they're always so proud of what they make. we hang everything on the fridge :,)
Baking Together
Stella is my little sous chef and she takes it SO seriously hahah. we make our cottage cheese waffles together, cookies, banana bread — anything simple where she can help measure and stir. Ozzy mostly just eats the ingredients but she's learning hahah.
Dance Parties
when all else fails we have a dance party in the living room. I put on music and we just go for it. it burns their energy, it's hilarious, and it's free. Stella has some moves that honestly put me to shame hahah.
The Rug Room
I've had this drawing in a drawer for almost 3 years and so when The Rug Room invited us to come make it into an actual rug I was SO excited. the girls loooooved it!! it got me out of my saddies too :,) highly recommend finding creative experiences like this for your kids.
the best activities are the ones where you're present with them. they don't need expensive toys or fancy outings. they just need you ❤️
